The Small Dusty Wave (Idaea seriata) is a species of moth in the Geometri
d family.
Description[]
A relatively small geometrid, this species is a cream-white colour, with several dotted cross-lines, as well as a dusting of dots. The cross-lines are more frequent near the outer edge of the wings. The Mullein Wave is very similar, but larger. This species flies in two generations from June to September.
Habitat & Range[]
Found throughout Britain, being more frequent in England than Wales and Scotland. Inhabits a range of habitats, including gardens.
Larvae[]
Larvae feeds on docks, and tends to feed on withered leaves.
