The Pale Pinion (Lithophane hepatica) is a species of moth in the Noctuidae family.

This species is local in Britain, and is declining in most places, and found in deciduous woodlands in southern Britain, including Ireland. This species is quite long and slender, and is light brown in colour. The Tawny Pinion (L. semibrunnea) is similar in size, maybe slightly smaller, but is usually darker, and always has a dark ridge. This species is found in Autumn,

then hibernates and occurs in Spring, though it is likely that some don't emerge in Autumn, and emerge in Spring.
