Nematopgoon metaxella is a species of moth in the Adelidae family.

Description[]

One of three similar species, this is the largest, with broader forewings. The antennae of males are extremely long, the wings are brown.

Range[]

Locally common in southern England, Wales and Ireland, this species becomes scarer further north.

Larvae[]

The larvae feed on a range of plants, and also dead leaves.
