The Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing (Noctua janthe) is a moth in the Noctuid family.

This species is similar to a smaller version of the Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing (Noctua fimbriata), but not only is N. fimbriata larger, but it is usually much lighter in colouration. The Lesser Broad-borderedf Yellow Underwing is usually purple-brown, sometimes reddish-brown ro clouded grey. Like the Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, the Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing has a yellow hind wing, with a broad border. Similar species includes the Langmaid's Yellow Underwing, which can only be separated by more black on hindwing, though it is usually darker. The Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing also has a greenish face.

This species flies from July-September.
