Lesser-spotted Pinion - Ian Kimber

This species is similar to two other British species, the Lunar-spotted Pinion (C. pyralina) and the White-spotted Pinion (C. diffinis), though this species is generally smaller than the other two, but that isn't always the case. This species is reddish-brown, with broad central crosslines which gets white towards the leading edge. There is another white blotch near the wing tip, as well as a black dot.
