The Dusky Cockroach (Ectobius lapponicus) is a small native cockroach.

It is mainly ground dwelling and is easy to overlook in the scrub, grassland and woodland habitats which it favours.

The adults are up to 9mm long and their bodies are grown-grey except for the pale translucent margin between the pronotum and the forewing.

Adults can be seen during the summer months and fly in warm weather.

The Dusky Cockroach is only found in South England but is locally common there.
