The Dark Umber (Philereme transversata) is a species of moth in the Geometridae family.

This species is local in Britain, inhabiting southern and central Britain. This species ranges from a very dark to a rich brown in colour, with broad forewings. The central crossband is darker than the rest of the wing, and is strongly angled. The outer margins are scalloped. This species flies in the summer. In small numbers in Ireland. The larva feed on Buckthorn and Alder Buckthorn.
