Arctiidae

Actiidae consists of the Tigers, Ermines and Footmen. All three species tend to be colourful, and Tigers and Ermines are often brightly banded or spotted. Footmen are generally smaller and more slender. Most species are nocturnal and will come to light. Many don't feed, but some species do. There are two subfamilies; Lithosiinae and Artciinae.
