Arable Farmland - WWC Archives
Arable Farmland is land which is used to grow crops. These crops my include:
- Wheat
- Barley
- Maize
Arable Farmland makes a good habitat for many species but especially those that have a diet of grains and seeds. The crops provide shelter from the elements and predators such as Kestrels for small mammals such as the Harvest Mouse.
Many birds can be found on Arable Farmland such as grouses like the Pheasant and Corvids like the Carrion Crow. The farmland is also a good place to find a number of plants along the hedgerows due to good irrigation and soil fertility.
