The 24-Spot Ladybird (Subcoccinella 24-punctata) is a ladybird found in the UK

This ladybird is approximately 3mms long and is seen between May and October in fields and meadows. The ladybird is a russet colour with black spots of which it can have between 0 and 26 of. Sometimes the spots can fuse and a melanic form is rare.

The pronotum is a russet colour with black spots with the legs being russet.

They are usually found close to the ground among long grasses. They feed on all sorts of plants and winter in low herbage and grass tussocks.

The wing cases are covered in fine hairs (which are visible with a hand lens).
